Preparing For Court

Dress For Success

How you dress is important.  You want your Judge to have a good impression of you so dress as if you are attending a church service or a funeral. It is important that your Judge know that you understand the importance of the Court’s time. While you do not necessarily have to wear a dress or tie, you do want to look your best so wear dress slacks and a nice blouse or button down shirt with a collar.  If you chose to wear a sleeveless blouse, be sure to bring a jacket. Shoes should be professional and clean and preferably not showing your toes.

Time Matters & So Do You

We will go over many things with you before a Court appearance to prepare you for a hearing.  However, it is up to you to show up on time.  Please allow time for weather, traffic accidents, construction, parking downtown, etc.  Being late to Court gives a bad impression and shows a lack of respect for the judicial process.  You should always be at the designated meeting area to meet your lawyer at least 15 minutes prior to any scheduled hearing.
